Bailey's Credentials

I began playing the violin when I was five years old. Since then I have played in three youth orchestras: the Worcester (MA) Youth Chamber and Symphony Orchestras and the Tallahassee Youth Symphony Orchestra. I was concertmaster in the Worcester Chamber Orchestra and played first violin in the Worcester Symphony Orchestra. I have been a part of the TSYO for five years, and am now co-concertmaster and play in the TSYO quartet. I have gone to Allstate every year that I auditioned (2006, 2008, 2009). In 2008, I placed first in the Big Bend Young Artists Competition with the first movement of the Bruch Concerto. In 2009, I placed third with the third movement of the Bruch Concerto. I have attended summer music camps every year, beginning in the eighth grade. In 2006 and 2007 I went to Florida State Summer Music Camp, both times on scholarship. This past summer (2008) I attended Cannon Music Camp at Appalachian State in Boone, North Carolina (also on scholarship) and had the time of my life. I sat concertmaster and co-concertmaster in both the string and symphony orchestras and played in the Honors String Quartet. I have been given a scholarship and invitation to attend the same camp this coming summer. In the Chiles Highschool Orchestra, I rotate between concertmaster and co-concertmaster. Our high school orchestra competed in the ASTA National Orchestra Festival in March and took first place! I have played at weddings, nursing homes, parties, you name it. I currently enjoy jamming with friends and expanding my musical repetoire.

Lucas's Credentials

I began playing the violin when I was eleven years old. I have been the Tallahassee Symphony Youth Orchestras (now known as the Tallahassee Youth Orhcestras) for five years and will be begining my sixth year this fall. I have been in the Symphony (the top orchestra in TYO) for two years and it will be my third this fall. I sat Prinicpal Second Violin this past year and hope to be moving up this coming year. I have been in the orchestra pit for two of my high school's productions (Tartuffe and Seussical:The Musical!) and was on stage in Anatomy of Gray as Jacob Woodworth, a townsperson who played the violin (I played "A Mighty Fortress" and "Ashokan Farewell"). Our high school orchestra competed in the ASTA National Orchestra Festival in March and took first place (visit the "Nationals" link in the navigation menu for more details)! I have attended the Florida State Summer Music camp for three years and will be attending the Canon Summer Music Camp at Appalachian State in North Carolina this summer with Bailey on full scholarship. I shared a solo with Erica Eckland in 8th grade on the Bach Concerto for Two Violins. Our orchestra (Lawton Chiles Chamber Orchestra) has received straight superior ratings at Districts, State, and National competetions. Bailey and I have both performed in a quartet at Chick-fil-a on Valentines Day for the past two years and were requested back by popular demand. We also have performed at the Golden Eagle Country Club. I have played various weddings as well as parties and events.
